I left home in December 1984 to serve my country in the United State Marine Corps. It was not as difficult a challenge as I presumed it would be because my father a retired Navy man had prepared me for the road ahead. I found myself very well equipped for the challenge. I had watched my father do everything around our home from car maintenance to electrical work to building walls and bailing hay. He taught me that even if you do not know how to do something you still have the skills to accomplish anything you want. I was able to apply all the skills he taught and those learned during my service in the Marine Corp.
I just like everyone have Hard Habits To Break and was able to recognize early that the only person responsible for fixing those Hard Habits was the same person looking back at me in the mirror. When I started my own company and I was responsible for doing all of the tasks myself, I realized that there were a lot of steps that were unnecessary and were adding massive amounts of time for no reason. Why? Well this was the process that I had watched and was now duplicating. I took it upon myself to change everything that was too time consuming. There is almost always an easier, faster way to do most tasks. I just had to train myself to overcome the Hard Habits I had already allowed to infiltrate my life and I decided to work smarter not harder. This immediately gave me the time needed to finish even more tasks in less time.
It was during this time that I was working on some folding equipment when I had several ideas. I tested them and started looking into the Patent Process and realized some of my ideas did not meet the criteria for a Patent, but one did. In May 2001 I filed for patent pending status for the dual belt for folding machines. I was able to sell my invention and the Patent was issued and is still in use by M&R to this day. It revolutionized the way the folding machine performed.
Over the years I continued to utilize the same thought process that led to the Patent. That process needed to be used on every aspect of industry. To perfect and streamline the processes used in business which included all aspects of the process from the front office to the shipping department. I was able to rewrite the manufacturing processes and simplify the procedures so much that I preferred to hire inexperienced individuals because it was easier to train people the new easier way vs trying to Break those Hard Habits that experienced individuals bring with them.
Over the years I have seen firsthand the struggles that both small and large business deal with daily. Now at HardHabitsToBreak.com I have decided to use all my years of experience to help companies to overcome the Hard Habits To Break that have infected their businesses. Let us help you navigate the road to higher profits, better time management and a more efficient work flow through your facility by eliminating those Hard Habits To Break the same way I have done for years.
